Trombetta has developed a temperature-dependent pre-heat module designed to provide optimum control of diesel engine glow plugs and air intake heating elements for improved engine starting performance in harsh environmental conditions such as moisture, vibration and extreme temperatures.
The environmentally sealed module is configured to activate your engine's glow plug or air intake heater elements for a pre-determined time, from 3 to 30 seconds, based upon the ambient temperature. With your key in the run position, a dashboard "wait" indicator light signals the operator to turn the key to start the engine.
The light remains "on" until the glow plug or air intake heater reaches the required temperature then turns "off". The module is ideal for single-switch ignition systems, such as three and four cylinder diesel engines that require temperature compensation and an accurate wait-time indication for the operator.
The S500-B100-02 module is rated for a 40 amp resistive load and has a voltage range of 6 to 18 VDC. The module provides transient protection up to 30V to safeguard the module from damaging voltage spikes within the engine compartment. It incorporates industry-standard ISO pin-out configurations that are IP66/67 rated in a potted nylon housing. Call MurCal inside sales to learn more.
The S500-B100-02 module directly replaces Delphi and Bosch models, and can be customized for your application.
