The 20T-I-250-6-1/2 is a 2" Temperature Swichgage®. This model features a diaphragm-actuated, temperature-indicating gage, with a built-in electrical switch for tripping alarms and/or shutdown devices.
This model has a 6 foot capillary length with a standard 1/2-14 NPT threading, and a temperature range from 130-250øF (54-121øC).
This model also allows for illumination of the gage by means of an external lamp, generally provided by the Murphy Clamplight Assembly (12V part # 05702176 / 24V part # 05702177), which replaces the standard mounting bracket in your instrument panel.
The Clamplight Assembly is available in the temperature gage "accessories" section of this webstore. The gage mechanism is enclosed in a steel case coated to resist corrosion. A polycarbonate, break-resistant lens and a polished, stainless steel bezel help protect this rugged, built-to-last instrument. This vapor actuated gage features a sealed capillary tube and a sensing bulb. When subjected to heat, the liquid in the sensing bulb changes to vapor creating pressure against the diaphragm mechanism.
The diaphragm translates this vapor pressure into a mechanical gage reading.
Inside the 20T-I-250-6-1/2, the gage pointer acts as a temperature indicator and as one switch pole which completes a circuit when it touches the adjustable limit contact. Contact(s) are grounded through the Swichgage® case. This gage has a self-cleaning motion to enhance electrical continuity.
