This unit is a replacement CD coil assembly for the Murphy M2582 series. When capacitor discharge ignition systems are specified to be grounded when the fuel gas valve closes, and a Murphy switch adapter is in use, a resistor must be used in the system to prevent damage to the valve snap switches.
