MurCal's LumberJack Network Data Logger

The LumberJack™ Network Data Logger by MurCal was developed to address the need to monitor and log data conveniently on engine driven equipment that is remotely located. The package includes the MurCal LJ-1 LumberJack™ data logging module and a wireless data MODEM. The devices are conveniently packaged in a NEMA 4X enclosure suitable for mounting outside next to a pump engine. MurCal also offers a solar charger option to help keep the engine batteries fully charged and ready to start the engine.
The LJ-1 connects to the wireless data MODEM via its onboard Ethernet connection. This allows remote viewing, control, and access to the site through a standard web browser interface. Using the onboard RS-485 port, the LJ-1 also connects to standard engine instrumentation like the FW Murphy PowerView or EMS228 controller.
With the built-in real time clock and SD card, the LJ-1 will log engine data and other monitored data with a time and date stamp. This information can be easily downloaded remotely through the internet or collected locally from the SD card. Information required by local air board authorities can be extracted and used to populate monthly reports.
The device can also email / text alarm messages to service technicians in the case of an engine or pump problem. For example, if the engine oil pressure is low, but not critically low, the engine can produce a warning message that the LJ-1 will read. It will then send out the message and the condition can be remedied before a catastrophic failure. The service technician will be able to access the unit before he leaves the shop and be ready with the needed supplies to service the engine in an efficient manner.
MurCal can custom configure the LJ-1 module to utilize the analog and digital I/O resources to your specific pumping application. The web interface has been designed to allow for customization of web-screens using industry standard Java script.

Imagine the ability to monitor your engines from nearly anywhere. All you need is a standard web browser. If you have a wireless modem for your laptop you can log into your LumberJack account from the back of your pickup truck.
If you’d like to format the screen in a different way or add/remove available information, it is a simple matter of editing the script and copying to the SD card. The possibilities are only limited to your imagination. Ask us if the LumberJack can perform the control, data logging, or monitoring functions you need and there is a good chance the answer is YES!

MurCal has several options that complement the LumberJack. The Solar Battery Charger gives you the ability to maintain the performance of your battery and prevent harmful battery drain.
