MurCal Seminar Series
"Stationary Natural Gas Engine Emission Standards"
March 4, 2013
From February 26th through March 1st, MurCal hosted four informational seminars, featuring industry experts from Johnson Matthey, Testo, Compliance Controls and Murphy Power Ignition, focusing on how related emission compliance products work together to meet emission standards on stationary rich-burn natural gas engines.
On Tuesday the 26th we kicked off the seminar series at the Atrium Hotel, near John Wayne Airport in Irvine. The turnout was very strong - in the neighborhood of 40 guests. During the "lunch and learn" seminar we heard from several industry experts, each of whom explained how specific products and technologies help stationary engine operators meet and maintain emission compliance with their local air quality district.
Our speakers included Darrell Schmitt from FW Murphy, specializing in air fuel ratio controllers from Compliance Controls and ignition control products from Murphy Power Ignition; Chris Segura from Testo, who spoke about ultra-rugged and innovative portable emission analyzers; and Bob Bono of Johnson Matthey, who discussed their durable and cost-effective Modulex™ catalyst elements and housings. Lunch was tasty!
Over the next three days we held similar seminars at the Four Points Sheraton in Bakersfield, the Park Inn by Radisson in Fresno, and the Courtyard Marriott in Sacramento. With a combined attendance of nearly 80 industry professionals over the four days, MurCal was very pleased with both the turnout and the quality of information provided by our guest speakers.
