Beam Microvac Propane Vacuum Switch (1501-L)
Beam 1501-L Propane Vacuum Operated Safety Switch 6 or 12 Volt 12V Microvac (1501-L)
The Beam Microvac Model 1501-L is a vacuum safety switch designed for use in industrial and engine applications, particularly with gaseous fuel systems such as LPG (propane) or CNG.
Its primary function is to monitor and regulate vacuum levels, acting as a safety device to stop fuel flow if the engine stops running—even if the ignition switch remains on.
Key Features:
• Voltage: Operates on 6 or 12 VDC power.
• Function: Uses a subminiature microswitch to provide a positive snap action with no arcing, ensuring instant closing at starting vacuum.
• Set Point: Closes at a vacuum between -2 to -2.5 inches of water; remains closed down to -1.5 inches of water vacuum.
• Connections: Features three screw terminals for solenoid, ignition, and starter connections, allowing for 2- or 3-wire installation.
• Construction: Die-cast aluminum housing; includes wire terminals and mounting clamp.
• Certification: UL listed (AU1682).
• Applications: Commonly used with IMPCO regulators (models 120A, 100A, 60) and compatible with various industrial machines, forklifts, packaging, and processing equipment.
• Purpose: Enhances machine safety and efficiency by ensuring fuel flow only when proper vacuum is present, preventing accidental fuel leakage or unsafe operation.
Typical Uses:
• Industrial machinery (e.g., forklifts, packaging, and processing equipment)
• Stationary engines running on LPG or CNG
• Applications requiring reliable vacuum monitoring and fuel shutoff for safety compliance
