Feedback was gathered from our clients regarding the struggles they’ve faced integrating PowerView® displays with their engine control projects. Our response was to create a product centered around these 4 key points:
• a software solution that is affordable and easy to understand
• a smart design that offers simple, yet flexible, configuration options
• a way to avoid customized programming that can be costly and difficult to comprehend
• a helpful, easy to use Set-Up Wizard that walks you through a series of configuration screens to connect your engine to your new control display in minutes.
SmartCommand™ software was developed with the end-user in mind. SmartCommand™ effortlessly connects an affordable, configurable control solution to your engine control project.

SmartCommand™ is pre-loaded on Enovation’s PowerView® 700 display, a full-color touchscreen display that integrates vital engine, transmission and diagnostic information into an easy-to-read operator interface. The display is easily viewed in full sunlight and contains an optically bonded LCD inside an IP67-rated case to keep it safe in all-weather environments. A high-speed processor allows it to boot quickly as well as seamlessly showcase graphics, transitions and videos. The glove-friendly touchscreen and rugged design make it a perfect solution for all types of environments and applications. When combined with SmartCommand™ the display is unbeatable.
When you receive your new PV700-MC Display with SmartCommand™, simply connect the display and follow the Set-Up Wizard to pre-configure the display’s software to your specific engine. Select set-points, gauges, parameters, and viewing modes from a predefined list on the display itself. Most gauge screen layouts with analog, linear and/or digital gauges can be configured to display a variety of parameters from the CANbus and local display I/O. There are several indication lights, which may be viewed across the top of the screen layout, for failure warnings and emissions compliance alerts. SmartCommand™ provides the ability to monitor alarms and faults, attach up to three NTSC compliant video camera feeds, view service reminders, enable password security, and toggle between day & night mode brightness levels.
For marine applications, SmartCommand™ includes software support for use as a J1939 to NMEA 2000 gateway, providing a seamless experience for displaying engine information on Simrad, Furuno, Raymarine, and Garmin display products. Parameters like trip fuel used, trip hours, and total fuel used are included.
MurCal’s PV700-MC Display with SmartCommand™ is the most powerful and affordable solution for the customization of the Enovation PowerView® 700 display available on the market today. An interface design, paired with a full-color display, that utilizes thoughtful screen layouts and eye-catching color schemes to clearly organize engine information and make errors or warnings visible during operation. Simply unpack the box, mount, connect, configure, and enjoy!

Additional Notes from the Field: We recently had a customer that wanted to connect a Blink Keypad directly onto the PV500 and it can be done directly by connecting it via PC. If the gateway software you're using has Modbus capability, the connection is available without modifications, as long as valid information is being received from your engine to connect from J1939 to Modbus RTU for that specific parameter.
If in the notes column in the RS485 Modbus RTU table it says "Display", it means those variables and values are from the display hardware/software itself.
If it says "CANPort 1" that means there is a J939 -> Modbus RTY conversion going on and be aware that that will be in Metric since J939 is a metric standard.
For this you will need a Modbus RS485/RTU to Modbus TCP converter.
