How to Install a Flyback/Clamping Diode

Step 1. Stop the engine and disconnect the battery ground cable.
Step 2. Remove the two terminal nuts from the Injection Pump Solenoid. Leave existing wires in place.
Step 3. Place the Diode Package red wire over the “hot” (Battery +) terminal. (See drawing above.)
Step 4. Place the black wire over the ground (Battery –) terminal.
Step 5. Replace the terminal nuts and tighten securely.
Step 6. Reconnect the battery ground cable
