Q. How long have you been at MurCal? A. Nine months, I started in December 2023. Q. What is your position/role at MurCal? A. Applications Engineer with local support for Smith Power Products in Reno Nevada. Q. What do you love most about your job and why? A. I like to solve customer problems and learn new things along the way.

Q. How long have you been at MurCal? A. I have been at MurCal for 25 years. I started at our old building in 1999. Q. What is your position/role at MurCal? A. I started in the test department-we made auto start controllers typically for generators. Many people were afraid of the Y2K scare! When we moved to our current building I transitioned into sales and customer service for around 20 years. At the moment I build engine harnesses for a big crane with a pump or a drill attached to the boom. I also help out in shipping and receiving when needed.

Within the last year our Engineering team has produced an improved website that allows users of S800 control panels to remotely view live data from their stations anywhere! Whether navigating from a tablet, laptop, or phone, users are just a step away from securely logging on through their browser.

In the past several years, many municipalities are converting their pump stations from Internal Combustion Engines to Electric Motor Applications because they are considered more environmentally friendly, easier to maintain, and simplify the need to meet tightening emission standards. Our S800 Control Panels are ready for this switch to Electric Motors Applications.

I love how helpful everyone is because I have coworkers come back here to help me with a lot of things.

Here at MurCal we solder, crimp, and insulate our in-house wire harnesses together. That is great in the shop but how about in the field, in the real world? We want to keep our connections rugged and water tight. Trombetta has a solution. We can easily crimp some Deutsch pins and connectors for a CANbus extension leg. Once those are installed, we can mount and install one of our rugged CANbus splitters or other comparable products.
