Recently our team headed over to the city of Pico Rivera in the greater Los Angeles area to assist the contractors for a pre-startup in preparing for the final startup and commissioning of the station for final approval and acceptance by the County engineers with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.

The new Durfee Pump Station, part of the Alameda Corridor - East Grade Separation project uses the Series 600 municipal controller and is programmed for this triplex flood control application.

Check out our current selection of our Municipal Control Panels below:

Our customer - Leed Electric - welcomed us to the station and assisted in testing and validating the installation and operation of the controls.

The station collects rain water from the surrounding area to fill the station's collection basin. As the level at the station rises, pumps are signaled to start and stop at levels specified in the project’s design documents. These start and stop levels are easily accessed through the panel’s touchscreen HMI should additional adjustment be needed as the station is operated.

A submersible level transmitter provides the level input for staging and alarm monitoring. A second level transmitter was provided by Murcal for connection to the telemetry system used by the County and is not part of the control strategy.

If the transmitter providing control to the Murcal panel fails, the controller program signals the electric motor control circuit to activate the Emergency system. This switches control to a float system to back up the primary system. Emergency operation is also activated should the control circuits lose power or any failure condition cause the level to rise to an upper High Float.

Our municipal division was founded on the principle of developing efficient solutions to many of the control problems facing modernized water and sewage pumping stations, including flood control, sewage lift, well pumping and water booster applications. We build rugged, industry proven, SCADA system compatible control panels from the ground up to meet the specific requirements of the project.
