Q. How long have you been at MurCal?
A. Nine months, I started in December 2023.
Q. What is your position/role at MurCal?
A. Applications Engineer with local support for Smith Power Products in Reno Nevada.
Q. What do you love most about your job and why?
A. I like to solve customer problems and learn new things along the way.
Q. How would you describe your job to a bunch of kindergarteners?
A. I get to play with big diesel engines.
Q. Tell us a little about yourself:
A. I have been in the engineering field a long time. Started in semiconductors, telecommunications, audio and now controls. Married for 23 years. No kids, but a dog and a cat.
Q. Three words which best describe you:
A. Passionate, dependable, and detail oriented. I guess that is 5 words!
Q. Your most memorable/rewarding MurCal experience?
A. Solving the Doc Bailey Crane's two MCS pedal programming problems.
Q. Fun Fact About You?
A. My first exposure to the CAN Bus was on our tournament ski boats using Zero Off speed control. I volunteer for the local search and rescue here in Lake Tahoe.
Q. What place in the world would you like to visit?
A. Any place with really deep snow.
Q. What is the coolest place you have ever visited?
A. Switzerland!
Q. What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
A. Always plan for a worst case scenario and have a plan B.
Q. Do you have a favorite quote?
A. One thing leads to another...
Q. Do you have any hidden talents?
A. I used to be a musician- Piano and Percussion.
Q. Do you have any hobbies?
A. Sailing, water skiing, and snow skiing.
Q. Do you have any pets?
A. Border Collie Aussie mix and a black cat.
Q. Favorite Movies?
A. Fast and Furious series.
Q. Favorite TV shows?
A. Yellowstone.
Q. Favorite Artist/Music?
A. Rock music.

A. Mexican.
Q. Who inspires you?
A. Nate Smith-- A pro water skier..
Q. Which celebrity would you like to meet?
A. Ronald Reagan (he has passed on but he has impressed me!)
Q. Top three bucket list goals?
A. 1. Keep my knees healthy so I can ski in Europe, Canada, and Japan
2. Run 38 off in a water ski tournament
3. Win the lottery

I am an Application Engineer. Q. What do you love most about your job and why? A. I help an end user, such as a farmer or mechanic getting an engine running over the phone. It's pretty gratifying to be able to help someone in the field.
