Professional Journey

1. Can you tell us about your career journey and how you came to work here?

I have mostly been an office assistant. I did work at Sears for 5 years in the Large appliance section where I sold appliances. It was very challenging and out of my comfort zone, but I loved it. 

2. What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy the freedom to work at my own pace.

3. What has been your proudest achievement at work so far?

Becoming employee of the month twice is less than a year and a half. I feel noticed.

4. What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?

This position did not have much instruction or guidance, but I feel like I have paved my way. 

5. How do you stay motivated and productive in your role?

I am just a self motivated person. My job could be anything, and I would do it to the best of my ability.

Workplace Contributions

1. What do you think sets you apart as an employee?

I don't think I’m unique, but I am very reliable and always strive to be great at my job.

2. How do you approach teamwork and collaboration with colleagues?

I love working with other people; it’s fun to hear and see others’ approaches to tasks.

3. Can you share a project or task that you’re especially proud of contributing to?

Working with our “Webgility” system is a challenge, sometimes frustrating, but I love it when I figure it out.

4. How do you think your work impacts the company’s success?

I keep things moving forward. I approach each problem and find a solution.

5. What advice would you give to others aiming for Employee of the Month?

Keep smiling, try to let things slide off your back and find humor in the challenges. 

Personal Insights

1. What’s a fun fact about yourself that most of your coworkers might not know? 

I used to ride and train horses growing up.

2. What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I love traveling and I am a Disney nut. 

3. Do you have a favorite quote or mantra that inspires you?

Live and Let Live.

4. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Strength, So I can stay strong for my children and grandchildren. 

5. What’s one thing on your bucket list that you’re excited to accomplish?

Just looking forward to retiring and doing some traveling. 

Future Aspirations

1. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years professionally?

I hope to continue to grow here at Murcal until I retire.

2. Are there any skills or areas of expertise you’re currently working on developing?

Always working on patience.

3. How has this recognition motivated or inspired you moving forward?

It keeps me positive and encouraged to set an example.

4. What’s one goal you’d love to achieve at this company?

I really want to get all the back issues resolved that have been left to clean up.

1. What do you enjoy most about working with your team or at this company?

The feeling of freedom. No micromanagers just stay focused and do your work and it is appreciated.
