DEDICATED MUNICIPAL HELP
Experts In Municipal Water Challenges
Old pumps where sensors cannot be installed, leaking pipes, and obsolete controls make a water district manager’s job tough. Worse, when floods result from these issues, lawsuits can follow.
Our municipal division has developed efficient solutions for flood control, sewage lift, well pumping and water booster applications in California, Arizona, Texas, New Jersey, Washington, Florida and Nevada. We build rugged, industryproven, SCADA-system-compatible control panels from the ground up to meet the specific requirements of the project.
Get complete integrated panel solutions for water wells, booster pumps, flood control, and sewage lift and central controllers to manage complete stations with remote monitoring and alarms.
John Murphy provides demonstrations to test for modifications setup, simulations, and adjustments.
SEASONED ENGINEERS
Leverage Our Municipal Water Experience
As much as you know your plant and pumps, an outside perspective gets you past some roadblocks.
John Murphy—our “guru of municipal controls”—has over 60 years of experience designing and troubleshooting control systems. Our Bill Meyer invented the microprocessor-based engine automatic pump controller in 1979. Two more of our engineers who live and breathe municipal control applications have been with us for 13 and 15 years.
Their experience with rural and urban, small and large municipal water districts will help you reach your goals.
LATEST EMISSIONS CONTROLS
Achieve Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards
Providing safe drinking water is an energy‐intensive activity— one that water districts must achieve while laboring under strict EPA greenhouse gas emissions limits.
One way to meet emissions standards is by adding a FW Murphy Air Fuel Ratio Controller to your enclosure. Air fuel ratio information is directly displayed on the existing Series 800 HMI display. Additionally, a Johnson Matthey Emissions Control Solution - including housing and elements may - be required, based upon your emissions requirements.
Avoid penalties when you meet your emissions requirements.
We can monitor your operations from an internet-connected device during a storm event, then call the operators with suggested set-point changes the following day.
COMPLETE SYSTEMS
End-To-End System Build, Setup, And Service
We offer complete integrated panel solutions for water wells, booster pumps, flood control, and sewage lift and central controllers to manage complete stations with remote monitoring and alarms. We design, build, and program our control systems so you have an advantage when it comes to service. We’re with you every step of the way, making sure your installation is perfect and that you understand all the benefits of your new system from day one.
MURPHY’S ALL-PURPOSE INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT
PowerCore® Series Controllers
Appropriate for mechanical or electronic engines, our PowerCore® series controllers stand up to some of the harshest environments. Capable of handling sophisticated engine diagnostics, this powerful controller targets enginedriven pumps and irrigation, with the versatility to work in most engine-driven applications.
Municipal water districts trust our PowerCore® Series for general, all-purpose manual/auto start and throttling engine control. This series is designed specifically for applications that don’t require a wide array of inputs and outputs.

MURCAL 800 SERIES
Full Featured Municipal Pump Control Panel
The Series 800 is a municipal-specific control platform designed to meet the needs of nearly every municipality. It withstands a wide ambient temperature range and features an HMI display that is viewable in extreme environments.
All-purpose and highly configurable, this controller operates on Linux, an open-source operating system. Its single-board design eliminates the majority of inter-panel wiring that is traditionally seen with PLC control panels while retaining features such as true hardware interlocks for local and remote E-Stops.
