Q. How long have you been at MurCal?

A. I have been at Murcal for 5 years.


Q. What is your position/role at MurCal?

A. I am the General Manager.


Q. What do you love most about your job and why?

A. We have a great team of folks that makes the job fun and our customers are fun to work with. It is rewarding to watch our team grow as we also solve our customer's problems. 


Q. How would you describe your job to a bunch of kindergarteners?

A. I talk to people about engines all day long.


Q. Tell us a little about yourself:

A.  Born South of Boston, I have lived in a few States and have been on every continent besides Antarctica. I have 4 sons, 19-23, enjoy cars and reading. I still own my first car (67 Chevelle) and I read 50+ books a year. 


Q. Three words which best describe you:

A. Loyal, Energetic, and Charismatic.


Q. Your most memorable/rewarding MurCal experience?

A. Before working for MurCal, when I was at Enovation Controls, we had a major panel problem with a MurCal customer that led to lots of windshield time with MurCal folks as we figured out the solution. Really created a bond between MurCal and myself.


Q. Fun fact about you?

A. I was a shepherd for 5 years, on the farm, real sheep. Have heard all the jokes...


Q. What place in the world would you like to visit?

A. Egypt and Israel, but maybe Jordan as well. It would be cool to walk the Appalachian Trail.


Q. What is the coolest place you have ever visited?

A. Brazil is cool, I have spent a bunch of time in Dubai / Abu Dhabi and I think that is nice as well.


Q. What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

A. "80% is showing up" - Ed Porras circa 2002


Q. Do you have any hidden talents?

A. If it's mechanical in nature I can probably fix it. 


Q. Do you have any hobbies?

A. Reading, cycling, and networking, I love meeting people and learning from them.


Q. Do you have any pets?

A. We have a 21 pound cat called Shadow, gray one.


Q. Favorite Movies?

A. Tombstone, the Marvel movies, Fast and Furious movies, the Lord of the Ring Movies. 


Q. Favorite TV shows?

A. I do not really watch much TV, but Top Gear can be fun.


Q. Favorite Artist/Music?

A. I love 80's hair bands, it's what I grew up with. I also listen to Country. 


Q. Favorite Food?

A. It's hard to beat some lobster/chowda' on the New England sea coast. I also eat a lot of Chipotle on the road.


Q. Who Inspires You?

A. I am inspired by people that get crap done, those that figure it out and don't let things get in their way, this can be someone famous or the mechanic at a local shop.

I feel there are three types of people.


1. Those that make things happen

2. Those that watch things happen

3. Those that wonder what the heck happened


It is those people in group one that inspire me.


Q. Which celebrity would you like to meet?

A. GW Bush would be cool, he knew how to find the right people and is humble enough not to claim to be the smartest person in the room.
