Barbara Saks Murphy was born in 1947 in Santa Monica, California. Her early years were spent in Pacific Palisades with her parents, Robert and Joyce Saks, and her older sister, Sandy, before the family later moved to Los Alamitos. Barbara often shared tales of encountering famous actors in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

With the announcement of the discontinuation of the Murphy PV101 we have seen a lot of customers looking for ideas on what to replace it with. The main recommendation is to replace it with the PV380 from Enovation Controls. It is roughly the same size and offers the same or better functionality.

Q. How long have you been at MurCal? A. I have been at Murcal for just about 6 months. Q. What is your position/role at MurCal? A. I am a Software Engineer Intern but I do have a more application engineer role right now. Q. What do you love most about your job and why? A. I love being able to work in cooperation with other engineers and doing a bit of everything, such as coding work or wiring harness.

A circuit breaker is an automatically-operated switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from overloading and short circuits. Working with the blueprints and seeing how it all comes together has been very educational for me. I’ve always worked in the electrical manufacturing industry but never with blueprints and I really like it.
